Accelerated Resolution Therapy: The Number One Trauma Solution You Didn’t Know You Needed

Looking for relief after a traumatic event can be as daunting as the memories you keep re-experiencing.

There can be so much that goes into finding the right kind of treatment. Which makes it seem–and feel–like an uphill battle for most of the process.

Outside of the many appointments you might make to find the right therapist, you’ll also have many tests of treatment types. Finding who and what works for you is a task all in itself.

A common fear when seeking therapy is that you’ll have to relive what happened all over again. That you’ll have to give every specific detail of the event, which for some might not be an option.

You might have a preference for privacy. Or there’s a requirement of confidentiality in regard to the event–which could be the case for military or government officials.

You know that trauma-informed therapy is an important step in your healing journey. But where should you start?

One approach that has proven to be overtly effective is ART. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is taking the trauma-informed therapy world by storm. And we are gladly letting it.

What exactly is ART?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a unique combination of approaches. When ART was created it included pieces from two other practices: EMDR Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.

EMDR Therapy is an approach that can involve rapid eye movement or other stimuli. This approach has been shown to treat unresolved traumatic memories.

Gestalt Therapy emphasizes the present moment through techniques such as:

  • The empty chair approach

  • Exaggeration

  • Dreamwork

  • Roleplay

  • And even guided fantasy

ART combines the best parts of these approaches. It involves rapid eye movement from EMDR, and the techniques and metaphors from Gestalt. With these two combined therapies, you’ll find a more suited and solution-oriented approach that is completely custom to you.

When you begin your session, your therapist will use rapid eye movement to help you visualize the distressing event you're healing from. You can also use a simple phrase that fully represents that memory. After which, they will guide you into processing the bodily sensations that you experience from that trauma. Lastly, they will direct you to rescript the memory.

Trauma-focused therapy has specific key points which make treatment effective. To name a few there’s exposure, cognitive restructuring, and relaxation skills. And Accelerated Resolution Therapy gets every single one right on the money.

This approach is different from others in the sense that you actually experience closure at the end of your ART session.

There are no lingering thoughts. No going home having to cope with the memories being front and center again. And no hard-to-handle emotions taking you over.

Beginning this therapy doesn’t include the hassle of finding the “perfect” therapist either. Because of its undetailed nature, you don’t have to even have the same one every time.

Who is ART intended to help?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy has been most ideal being used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

If that’s you, you can schedule your intake right away.

As research has been completed on PTSD, we have learned that the reach of this illness is well beyond only combat veterans. So, if you have any traumatic-related experience, we highly recommend giving the ART approach a chance.

But PTSD isn’t the only thing that this treatment covers. It has also been tied to the relief of:

  • Grief from loss

  • Phobias (yes, even spiders)

  • Addictions

  • Even for those that suffer from anxiety and depression

And when considering the age groups? Even that is a huge range.

There have been case studies completed on adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Which all were proven to be successful regardless of age.

Many people who have completed their sessions have claimed that their suicidal urges have significantly decreased. Along with experiencing positive emotions again. And even being able to actually manage their day-to-day stressors and triggers.

In short, if you are anyone seeking relief from life events, traumatic or not, ART is likely for you. Just as it has been for everyone else.

How can it help you?

ART has continued to prove to be extremely effective. For all walks of life.

While it can significantly reduce any negative symptoms that you are having, there is also a plethora of other positive feelings that accompany each session.

You’ll find yourself leaving each appointment with a strong sense of empowerment. And even an overwhelming sense of relief.

Finally! Right? How often is it that you find a therapy that works right off the bat?

You can experience normalcy again. You can feel like your true self again.

What does the commitment look like?

One of the most special parts about Accelerated Resolution Therapy (you know, besides everything else about it) is that the commitment is low and affordable.

If you’ve tried talk therapy before, you know that at the end of your session you’re likely assigned some “homework”. Something to work on in between your sessions and a point of discussion at the start of your next one.

With ART, you won’t even have that

And the success of this treatment is typically fast. The average patient completes their treatment plan with outstanding results in less than 4 sessions.

That means this is not only a minimal time investment, but it’s also less of a financial investment, too. If you are concerned about the potential of spending several thousand dollars just to be able to function normally again, we encourage you to try ART.

So, now to schedule your intake…

At The Hope Place, we are all trained in ART. That’s how much we swear by it.

We have 1 therapist offering different priced ART session opportunities as well, so let us know if you’d like to be considered for that option.

Your mental health treatment should be just as unique as you are. And we believe that you should be able to receive treatment without giving us every single detail. The way that we can promise your healing is through Accelerated Resolution Therapy.

Schedule your intake. And find hope again with us here at The Hope Place. We can’t wait to be a part of your healing journey.
