Treatment We Provide
-
Trauma Therapy
Trauma Treatment has made leaps in the last decade. We are trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy which allows the client to leave out the details that might otherwise retraumatize them. Our solution focused approach uses questions to help rewire your brain to think in a more helpful way without losing yourself.
-
Anxiety Treatment
Our approach to therapy is effective for anxiety disorders. Sometimes the anxiety is part of something larger like ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, or even a relational trauma. We’re here to help you figure it all out.
-
Depression Help
Feeling hopeless and helpless is a major factor in depression. Maybe you stopped doing some of the things you once loved. Maybe everything is numb inside. You don’t need to have goals ready to go when you get to your intake. We’ll guide you using baby steps back to your mental health.
-
Grief Therapy
The loss of a loved one is life changing. There are so many questions. Who am I without them? Did I really know them? Was I good to them? Did they love me?
You’re not alone. We would be honored to walk the grief journey with you.
-
Dissociative Disorders
Times of stress often exacerbate dissociative symptoms ranging from amnesia to multiple parts in one body, depending on the type of Dissociative Disorder you may be experiencing. We believe DID systems and their SOs can help each other to create an inner and outer world that works for everyone.
-
ADHD Treatment
ADHD is one of those gifts that comes with great cost and responsibility. We can help guide you through the impact ADHD has taken on your life, and learn the skills to master those ADHD moments.
What People Are Saying
“I’ve never been to a therapist before that gave me a copy of the notes she took during our session. These notes have become powerful tools that keep me on track in between sessions.”
— Client
“Wow! They have a gorgeous location and office, offer a therapy approach that helps you make progress even in just the FIRST session, and you can’t beat the small animal therapy (goats!) Rachel Malquist is the owner, and she has a huge heart for helping folks with PTSD and doesn’t shy away from challenging diagnoses and cases. Highly recommend checking out The Hope Place for your mental health care needs!”
— E.C
“This is a very different, cozy and inviting therapeutic space. I have known Rachel the owner and Cameron one of the therapists there for many years. Both exceptional therapists!

Insurance
We are a private pay practice and do not accept insurance. We believe that accepting insurance could create insurance based treatment plans and less confidentiality for our clients.
Dr. Sarah Schewitz has written a great article called The Real Reasons (That Nobody Tells You) About Why Therapists Don’t Accept Insurance.
We also offer a superbill that can be used with your insurance company to claim out of network benefits that might be owed to you. Out of network benefits are the responsibility of the client to attain from their insurance company.
Pricing/Fees
Each Contract Therapist at The Hope Place charges their own set fee for services ranging from a sliding scale of $40 to $75 to upwards of $195 per 45 to 50 minutes session of psychotherapy. ART Sessions are typically 2 hour blocks that are charged at the hourly rate.
For example: A one hour rate for Rachel Malquist LPC-S is $195. An ART Session with Rachel would then be $390.
You can easily view each therapist’s profile and rate by clicking the button below.
Frequency of Treatment
Without meeting you, it’s impossible for us to give an accurate quote on how often sessions might need to occur to be helpful for the severity of your symptoms. Typically, we create our treatment plans to include 6 sessions at which point we should notice some changes towards more positive coping skills and thinking.
ART is usually used for traumatic events and has been found effective between 1 and 5 sessions.
Is online therapy the same as teletherapy, telehealth, or virtual counseling?
Yes, those are all names for the same thing: meeting with a licensed therapist by secure video instead of in person. You may see it called teletherapy, telehealth, virtual therapy, or online counseling. At The Hope Place, it is simply therapy from wherever you are in Texas.
Does online therapy work as well as in person therapy?
For many concerns, yes. Research has found online therapy can be as effective as meeting in person for things like anxiety, depression, and stress. It also removes the travel and lets you meet from a space where you already feel comfortable. Your therapist can help you decide whether it is a good fit for what you are facing.
Who can do online therapy with The Hope Place?
We can see anyone who is physically located in Texas at the time of their session, since our therapists are licensed in Texas. You do not need to live near Mansfield, you just need to be somewhere in the state when you log on.
What can online therapy help with?
Our online therapists support anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, and dissociative disorders, and we work with teens, individual adults, and couples. We use a solution focused approach, and we are also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy for processing trauma.
Is online therapy private and secure?
Yes. We use a confidential, secure video system for sessions, and your paperwork is signed through a protected client portal. Your privacy matters to us, which is part of why we are a private pay practice.
What do I need for an online session?
Just a private space and a device with a camera and microphone, like a phone, tablet, or computer, plus a stable internet connection. You will receive a link by email or text to join your therapist at your appointment time.
How do I get started with online therapy?
It is a simple, four step process. You schedule an intake through our portal, digitally sign your consent forms, join your therapist online at your scheduled time, and then receive session notes you can keep to track your progress.
Can teens and couples do online therapy?
Yes. We have years of experience with teen therapy online, and we also see couples virtually, including couples working through betrayal trauma, postpartum depression, and parenting stress. Online can be an easier way for busy families to fit care in.
Do you take insurance, and how much does online therapy cost?
We are private pay and do not bill insurance, which keeps your care confidential and free from insurance driven treatment plans. Each therapist sets their own fee, ranging from a sliding scale of $40 to $75 up to $195 for a 45 to 50 minute session. We can also provide a superbill you may submit for any out of network benefits.
How often will I have sessions?
That depends on your needs, and we cannot say for sure without meeting you. Many treatment plans start with about six sessions, at which point you and your therapist look for early signs of progress and adjust from there.
Is online therapy right for everyone?
Not always. Online therapy works well for many people, but it is not the right setting for an emergency or active crisis. If you or someone you love is in danger or thinking about suicide, please call or text 988 or call 911. For ongoing support, we are glad to talk through whether online or in person care is the better fit for you.
