Rachel Malquist LPC-S
Founder & Clinical Director

Healing does not have to be scary. As the founder of The Hope Place, I have built a warm, compassionate space where people can move past trauma and feeling stuck into a brighter, healthier life, often without the overcomplicated talk or rehashing of the past that has worn them out before.

I hold a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University and have spent more than a decade in trauma informed care. I work primarily with adults using Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, two efficient and effective approaches that help you make real progress, sometimes even in the first session.

My heart is for people carrying heavy things. I support clients through trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and self harm, and I have a special place in my work for veterans, first responders, and caregivers who are running on empty. I also offer ADHD coaching and executive functioning support for those who want practical skills for everyday life, and couples therapy for partners who want to reconnect. For clients who would like their faith woven into the work, I provide biblical counseling.

As a Christian wife, mother, and business leader, I am committed to leading The Hope Place with integrity and stewardship, caring for both the people we serve and the therapists who serve them. Part of that calling is investing in the next generation of clinicians, so I provide supervision for LPC Associates, and I offer consults to fellow professionals working to understand complex trauma, PTSD, ritual child abuse, and dissociative identity disorder.

I am especially passionate about clients who feel skeptical about therapy, or who have never tried it because they simply do not want to talk about it. If that is you, I would love to show you that this can feel different, and more helpful, than you expected.

Ready to get hoped up? I see adults, teens, and couples and offer professional consults at a rate of $195.

Rachel is passionate about seeing clients who are skeptical about therapy or who have never been to therapy before, because they “don’t want to talk about it.” She encourages you to see if her techniques are different and more helpful than you expected.
